CSC 416 Introduction to Autonomous Systems

Course Goals

CSC416 is a senior elective introductory course in autonomous systems. This course will introduce the student to the fundamental issues facing autonomous systems as well as some of the mainstream tools. CSC416 covers aspects of motion planning and routing, sensor processing and sensor fusion, localization, mapping and SLAM. Upon completion, students will be able to design software systems to enable a robot to operate autonomously.

Course Outcomes

A student who successfully completes this course should, at a minimum, be able to:

  1. Student will understand path planning and navigation
  2. Student will understand sensor fusion
  3. Student will understand localization and mapping
