Tuition, Credit, and Equipment
Military science and leadership courses are tuition free. Books and equipment are provided by the department. Associated fees assessed for all courses do apply. MSL credit may be applied as free electives toward graduation. MSL 101L or MSL 102L may be used to meet physical education requirements. Tuition is charged for courses when used to meet physical education requirements.

After the junior year of military science, cadets will have to complete a 28-day summer training event called the Leadership Development and Assessment Course (LDAC) with pay and travel expenses covered to and from Fort Lewis, Washington. Along with the above courses that are required, military history listed as HIST-460 in the catalog needs to be completed before graduation as well to be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army with a bachelor's degree.
