Coordinated by Dr. Charles Kliche

Date: June 22-27, 2014
Cost: $975

You will spend the week learning the science behind explosives and seeing how engineers use detonations to unearth precious minerals, shape the landscape, or even sculpt Crazy Horse and his horse’s head from a mountain side.

You will take a close-up and personal view of mining and explosives engineering guided by trained explosives experts. Field trips to active mines will let you see blasts, and—if camp coordinators can manage it—apply your explosives knowledge to the detonation of different materials! Read about the 2013 camp here.
