8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Girls' Day is almost full!
Please call (605) 394-2693 to register!
This special event is designed to introduce young women to careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Girls will hear inspiring and encouraging messages about pursuing careers in STEM areas and may participate in some hands-on activities. Various departments around campus will be hosting demonstrations that involve the young women. Events and activities planned for this day are prepared for middle school age girls in grades six through eight.
The good news this year is we have been able to keep our registration costs down to the minimum of $10.00 per person attending. The registration and release forms are also available to you here:
Registration Form | Release Form
Please have each girl that wishes to attend complete and return the forms to you along with her $10 registration fee. Mail the completed forms and the registration fees for your class/school to:

This year we have made a change to our Poster Contest. Instead of creating a poster students will be invited to create a catchy slogan! This year the theme is: Making Climate Change Personal.
Every human action and decision counts in our changing world, so come up with a slogan that addresses how we can all "Make Climate Change Personal".
All students attending this event are encouraged to enter the Poster Contest. Posters may be drawings, photos, collages, or printed material and must be no larger than 16" x 22" poster board with the student's name, grade, school and teacher's name printed plainly on the upper right hand corner on the back side of the poster. All posters submitted will be displayed in the Surbeck Ballroom for the entire day. Winning Prizes will be awarded at the end of the event for the top two posters based on scientific and creative criteria.
We're looking forward to spending the day together!
Space is limited so remember to register early as the forms and
the fees must be received by Friday, March 8, 2013.
