HIGHER STEPS is a six-week program designed and taught by the SDSMT Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department. High school students come to Mines and work on hands-on activities like soldering, programming, building a working radio, and robotics with our renowned faculty. Information and registration.
Career Launch (High School)
The School of Mines and Rapid City Industry are partnering with Rapid City Area Schools to provide sophomores, juniors, and seniors a fast start glimpse at a career choice in science and engineering. Spring Science Series
(Elementary, Middle School) Check back in March for our Spring Science Series Classes! Winter Science Series will be held for 4 weeks in February.
The Science Series begins on Thursday evening, April 10 and runs for 4 weeks. Each Thursday features a science or engineering discipline. Programming is designed for middle- and elementary-school aged students and their families. The Series runs at the same time as Career Launch (see above) so families with a student enrolled in Career Launch can remain on campus and enjoy the Science Series.

Girls' Day (Middle School)
Girls' Day 2014 is Thursday, April 3. Middle-school girls spend the entire day on campus going from workshop to workshop where they are engaged by professors and graduate students in hand-on activities designed to engage them in the fascinating, challenging, and FUN worlds of science and engineering.
