DOD National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowships
The Department of Defense offers approximately 200 graduate fellowships each year (approximately 9 percent success rate). Fellowships provide three years of support for graduate study leading to research-based Ph.D. degrees in the fields of science and engineering and are intended for students in the early stages of their graduate study.
Level of Support
$30,500-$31,500 stipend for a 12-month tenure plus a cost-of-education allowance (to cover tuition and required fees) per tenure year. The NDSEG Fellowship Program will also pay up to $1,000 per year toward medical insurance offered through the educational institution. The award is portable.
Electronic applications are typically submitted in December of your Senior or first year of graduate study.
