Vanderboom Office of Student Success
There are no easy degrees at South Dakota Mines. We expect hard work and lots of studying, but you are not alone. We want you to succeed. This is why we’ve added the Student Success as the hub of support you need to be successful academically and
socially.
Smart students ask questions. The Student Success is where you can come to ask questions and get the help you need to figure out the answers.
Located in the Devereaux Library, this is a one-stop shop that helps augment a student’s academic advisor. The SSC is a place students can go to study, get free tutoring from upper-class and graduate students, meet with the Student Success or Pre-Health
Advisor, and attend workshops on time management, learning strategies, and more.
Organized under the Vanderboom Office of Student Success are: the SSC Director, SSC Advisor, Pre-Health Advisor, the Tech Learning Center (TLC), and the Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) program. Learn more about our

There is no additional cost for these services, so please stop in. Lots of students come here both for the tutoring and for a little moral support. We are here to help you get the most from your South Dakota Mines experience: an experience that will empower
