Student Success Center
There are no easy degrees at Mines. We expect hard work and lots of studying, but you are not alone. We want you to succeed. This is why we’ve added the Student Success Center as the hub of support you need to be successful academically and socially.
Smart students ask questions. The Student Success Center (SSC) is where you can come to ask questions and get the help you need to figure out the answers.
Located in the Surbeck Center, this is a one-stop shop that helps augment a student’s academic advisor. The SSC is a place students can go to study, get free tutoring from upper-class and graduate students, meet with the Student Success or Pre-Health Advisor, and attend workshops on time management, learning strategies, and more.

There is no additional cost for these services, so please stop in. Lots of students come here both for the tutoring and for a little moral support. The Student Success Center opened in the fall of 2016, and is located in Surbeck right by the Dean of Students Office and the Career Center. It's designed to be comfortable, creative, inspiring and helpful. Stop by and visit and learn about all the resources available to you at SD Mines.
