RAPID CITY --- The South Dakota School of Mines men's basketball
roster just got a little stronger with the recent addition of Wyoming
native Jordan Dick who will join the Hardrocker men's basketball team in
the fall of 2013.
Dick will join the 'Rocker squad after spending two years at Eastern
Wyoming College --- a junior college in Torrington Wyo. As an EWC
Mustang, Dick averaged seven points and three rebounds per game this
past season and shot over 60 percent from the field and 40 percent from
three-point range. He also earned NJCAA Academic All-American honors.
"Jordan will be one of the toughest guys in our program the day he
arrives on campus," said Hardrocker men's basketball head coach Jason
Henry. "He is very aggressive on the defensive end and is an excellent
shooter from the perimeter."
During his high school career at Natrona County HS, Dick was a
two-time all-state and all-conference selection, helped his team earn
back-to-back Wyoming 4A championships and a three-year record of 67-15.
As a high school senior, Dick averaged 12 points, four assists, and
three steals per game.
"Jordan is a great leader on and off the floor and leads, not only by
hard work and toughness, but also vocally," Henry added. Jordan is a
strong young man that is a perfect fit for our program."
While attending South Dakota Mines, Dick plans to pursue a degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
