Cody Peterson is in his third season as the head coach of
the Lady Hardrocker golf program. He is no outsider to the Black Hills area.
Peterson was born and raised in Rapid City, SD. He played high school golf for Rapid
City Stevens and earned his Business Management Degree from Black Hills State
Peterson is very familiar with the game. Golf has played a major impact in Peterson’s
life. He has been playing his whole life and has been taught the game of golf
by some great coaches and is continuously learning the game.
“I love this game and being able to help athletes reach
their full potential is so exciting to me. As a golf coach I have very high
expectations on all my golfers. I want them to set goals and it’s my job to
help them reach those goals in the sport and also in their education.”
Peterson, comes to SD Mines with a vision for how he will
run his program.
“The biggest thing I look for in my athletes is commitment.
I feel that the team is like a family and we are all going to win together or
lose together so having the same commitment from everyone is crucial to
Peterson also works at Forest Products Distributors, Inc. as
a lumber salesman.
|Rob James - Women's Golf Assistant Coach|
Rob James is in
his second year as the assistant golf coach for the Lady Hardrockers.
Rob has been
involved in the golf world for more than 30 years. He played high school
golf in Nebraska. Years ago he managed the pro shop for the Ridgeview
Country Club in Chadron, Neb. He has continued to stay involved in the
golf scene by his active participation with the junior golf programs in
the Black Hills and playing weekend tournaments around the area. He has
followed his daughter since her participation in the junior programs all the
way through to her college golf.
“I am very
excited about the future of our women's golf program. Playing in the RMAC
has exposed the girls to experience top level competition on some of the best
golf courses in the Midwest," James said.
