Cody Peterson is in his first season as the head coach of the Lady Hardrocker golf program. He is no outsider to the Black Hills area. Peterson is born and raised in Rapid City. He played high school golf for Rapid City Stevens and earned his Business Management Degree from Black Hills State University.

This is Peterson’s first stint as a golf coach, but he is very familiar with the game. Golf has played a major impact in Peterson’s life. He has been playing his whole life and has been taught the game of golf by some great coaches and is continuously learning the game.

“I love this game and being able to help athletes reach their full potential is so exciting to me. As a golf coach I have very high expectations on all my golfers. I want them to set goals and it’s my job to help them reach those goals in the sport and also in their education.”

Peterson, comes to SD Mines with a vision for how he will run his program.

“The biggest thing I look for in my athletes is commitment. I feel that the team is like a family and we are all going to win together or lose together so having the same commitment from everyone is crucial to success.”

Peterson also works at Forest Products Distributors, Inc. as a lumber salesman.
