Students faculty and staff are provided with a personal H: drive on which to store course work and personal data and files. Each user is provided with 20 gig of storage space. This drive may also be used to create a personal web site.

Users can access their H: will on campus by chosing the H: from the network drives.

To access H: from off campus, you will need to VPN.  Most SD Mines student laptops have a VPN icon installed on them.

After creating your personal web page in any HTML editor, save the file to the public_html directory on your personal H:\ drive. Make sure that your opening page (initial file) is named index.html. Doing this will cause your web site to appear automatically. The url for your web page is: http://webpages.sdsmt.edu/~youruserid (i.e., http://webpages.sdsmt.edu/~jsmith for faculty and staff and http://webpages.sdsmt.edu/~1234567 (your student id number) for students). Store only data that you want to make public in the public_html directory of your H: drive.
