Unearth the mysteries of history at the Dinosaur Extravaganza
Come and unravel the mysteries of the past with the sixth annual South Dakota School of Mines & Technology’s Dinosaur Extravaganza from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Museum of Geology in the O’Harra Building on campus.
Sponsored by the Museum of Geology and Paleontology Club, the event will feature hands-on activities about dinosaurs and their environment, rocks and minerals.
Free and open to families with children up to age 12, the Dinosaur Extravaganza will deliver facts and dispel fictions with the Dinosaurs: When and Where activity and explore how humanity’s understanding of dinosaurs has changed over the years with the History of Paleontology booth.
Attendees will experience excitement hunting elusive dinosaurs for prizes, show off their creativity while they paint fossil casts or create their very own dinosaur scene, or learn basic field techniques with the dig box as they brush away sand and dirt to uncover the great animals of the past.
Imprint your own memories in the sands of time with a day of fun for the whole family at the Dinosaur Extravaganza.
