Mines President Heather Wilson extends condolences

School of Mines President Heather Wilson extends condolences to Alberto Lemut’s family, friends, and colleagues on behalf of the Mines family. Dr. Lemut died Nov. 21 at the age of 37.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Alberto Lemut’s family, friends, and colleagues.  We will remember him as an exceptional particle physicist who participated in several important research projects throughout his career and as a positive, friendly presence on campus.  Dr. Lemut was the principal investigator for an experiment at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in Lead known as the DIANA Demonstrator and joined the School of Mines faculty this semester from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.  He will be missed by his colleagues, students, and friends.  Memorial arrangements will be announced at a later date.”
