RAPID CITY, S.D. (Nov. 1, 2012) – The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology will host Go To Mines on Saturday, Nov. 10, for high school students exploring their college options.
The event hosts high school students of all ages, particularly juniors and seniors, as well as their parents, who get to know the university’s engineering and science curriculum and research projects, as well as explore campus and the dorms. Current Mines students, faculty and staff will be available to provide insider tips about campus life, the application process, scholarships and financial aid.
A Go Women breakfast will be held as well, offering prospective female students the opportunity to interact with current students to learn about everything from dorms and dining halls to professors and job fairs. All prospective female students are invited to this breakfast and can RSVP to Jennifer Sabourin at Jennifer.Sabourin@sdsmt.edu.
Prospective students will receive complimentary football tickets and discounted tickets will be offered to parents for the Nov.10 home game against Missouri Science and Technology.
The spring semester’s Go To Mines event is set for April 20.

• Go Women Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. (King Center – Hall of Fame)
• Registration: 8:30 a.m. (Surbeck Center)
• Welcome session: 9 a.m. (Surbeck Ballroom)
• Information fair: 9:45 a.m. (Surbeck Center)
• Department open houses: 11:00 a.m. (Various locations on campus)
• Lunch and campus tours: Noon
