Spring Career Fair to host nearly 80 employers at Mines, more on wait list

RAPID CITY, S.D. (Feb. 5, 2014) – Fortune 500 companies and other major employers from throughout the nation will converge on the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology campus from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, for the annual spring Career Fair at the Surbeck Center. The media is invited to attend.

Among employers scheduled to attend are Barrick Gold, Cargill, Garmin, Kimberly-Clark and Nucor, as well as regional companies and engineering firms. In all, 79 employers from 18 states, including 26 South Dakota exhibitors, will be on hand to visit with School of Mines students, some recruiting for the first time at SDSM&T. In addition, nearly half of the employers are staying to conduct next-day interviews with approximately 500 students. The fair reached capacity for booth space last month, and nine companies remain on the waiting list.
