Welcome to Residence Life at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology! Almost 1,100 students call our residence halls home while at SD Mines. We guarantee housing for all students who have graduated from high school in the past two years (per BOR housing policies) and offer upperclass housing and apartments for all students interested in campus living. Upperclass Housing Available Now for the 2016-2017 Academic Year!
With the addition of Placer Hall, Residence Life is excited to announce that housing for Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate Students will be available during the 2016-2017 academic year. Rocker Square I and Rocker Square II will be available for upperclass residents. Learn more about our apartments by visiting the

Rocker Square II websites. Upperclass students can submit their housing application online -- housing is assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Placer Hall: Opening August 2016
Residence Life is proud to announce the building of our newest residence hall -- Placer Hall. This new six-story building is being developed for second-year students and will offer 50 suite-style units, each with a living room and a bathroom. About half of the suites will consist of 2 double bedrooms, the others will have 4 single bedrooms. Community lounges, kitchens and group study spaces will also be provided throughout the building. Placer Hall is being built by the SD Mines Foundation, who in turn, will lease the building back to the University.
