SDSM&T is offering 30
individual CSEMS
scholarships of $3,125 for academic year 2007-2008. The scholarships are based on financial
need and given to incoming freshman or returning sophomore students enrolled full-time in computer science,
math, or any engineering field at the baccalaureate level.
Eligibility criteria for these grants are:
- You must be a U.S. citizen, national or alien admitted as a
refugee at the time of application, or an alien lawfully admitted
to the U.S. for permanent residence.
- You must be enrolled full time in computer science, engineering,
or mathematics each semester you receive the scholarship. Full
time means a minimum of 12 credits that apply to degree requirements.
- You must demonstrate academic potential or ability (as measured
by an ACT composite score of 22 or better for an incoming freshman
and achieving and maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better
for continuing students).
- You must demonstrate financial need as defined for undergraduate
students by the U.S. Department of Education rules for need-based
Federal financial aid. (See U.S.
Department of Education Student Guide for details.)
CSEMS scholars will be required to actively participate in the
Center of Excellence for Advanced
Manufacturing and Production (CAMP) project. Please visit the
CAMP website to acquaint yourself with this unique organization.
These activities are designed to help our CSEMS scholars get off
to a good start academically and to aquaint them with their intended
profession.
