Hardrocker hoops sweeps first DAC Player of the Week honors

Men’s Basketball: Michael Ross; South Dakota Mines; Freshman; Guard; Fort Worth, TX – Ross scored 29 points and added six rebounds, five assists, two blocks and three steals as the Hardrockers went 1-1 for the week.  In the two contests, he was 13 of 28 from the field, including 1 of 3 on 3-pointers and hit 2 of 2 from the free throw stripe.

Women’s Basketball: Melanie Vedvei; South Dakota Mines; Senior: Guard; Lake Preston, SD – Vedvei had 54 points, 16 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals as the Hardrockers split a pair of games.  For the week, she was 17 of 27 from the field and 20 of 28 from the free throw line.  Vedvei also moved into third place on the Hardrockers’ career scoring list with 1811 points, passing her older sister Stacie.
