RAPID CITY — South Dakota Mines football team pitched a shutout in the Hardrockers 2008 game with the SDM Alumni on Saturday at Dunham Field at O’Harra Stadium.
South Dakota School
of Mines scored 17 points in the first half and added a
touchdown in the second half as Mines prevailed 23-0 on a chilly
fall-like football afternoon.

Hardrockers. Josh Jones added the second score of the first
quarter on a seven-yard run.
Mines stayed on the ground for its second touchdown as Louie
Bruketta scored on a six-yard run.
Mines final score came via the airways when Joe Sanchez hooked
up with Tony Ostheimer on a 21-yard pass.
The Mines defense sacked the Alumni seven times as Joe Berke
registered a pair to go along with a team high seven tackles.
Mines went 3-7 overall with a 1-4 mark in the Dakota Athletic
Conference last season after starting out with wins in their
first two games.
The Hardrockers will open the 2008 campaign with a home game
against Haskell University from Lawrence, Kan., on Saturday Aug. 30.
