Barb Felderman |
Barb Felderman enters her 27th season as Lady Hardrocker basketball coach. She has guided teams to berths in the NAIA National Tournament in eight of the last 12 years, including appearances in the Final Four in 1998 and 1999. Felderman has coached Mines to a 391-314 (.557) overall record, and to a team record 28 wins during the 1997-98 season. She has coached seven SDIC Championship teams and added a DAC-10 titles in 2002 and 2005. A native of Doland, SD, and a graduate of Northern State University, Felderman spent eight years coaching and teaching at Kadoka and Pierre High Schools. She served as head softball coach at Ball State prior to coming to Tech in 1981. She was the Hardrocker volleyball coach until 1993 and won seven SDIC titles. While earning her Masters at the University of Wyoming, Felderman served as assistant basketball and softball coach. Barb and her Lady Hardrocker basketball team have held numerous clinics and camps to teach young boys and girls the fundamentals of basketball and teach them the true spirit of competition. Felderman was honored as South Dakota College Coach-of-the-Year by sportswriters in 1991 and 1998 and has been named SDIC Basketball Coach-of-the Year three times. The Lady Hardrockers have been named South Dakota Women's College team of the year on two occasions by the South Dakota Sportswriters Association.

Lori Coble
|
Lori Coble has been a valuable member of the Hardrocker athletic program for the last 25 years as the women’s assistant basketball coach. Her dedication to the Lady Hardrocker teams and helpful coaching insights have been a big part of Mines success over the years. A native of Presho, SD, Coble graduated from Dakota State where she played four years for the Lady Trojans and was recently inducted into the DSU athletic Hall of Fame. She coached at Plankinton for one season before moving to Rapid City. Coble is a member of the SDSM&T faculty as a biology instructor. |

Ann
Konechne |
Ann Konechne (1996-99) has returned to South Dakota School of Mines as a new assistant coach. During her basketball college career, Konechne appeared in 126 games for the Lady Hardrockers. She grabbed 624 rebounds, recorded 316 assists and had 81 blocks. She was a career 42 percent field goal shooter and also marked up 74 percent from the free-throw line. Konechne was named All-American following her senior season at South Dakota Mines in 1999. She was a four-year starter for the ‘Rockers and a three-time All-SDIC honoree, and was also named to the All-NAIA District 12 Team twice. She also earned the honored of the SDIC Defensive Player-of-the-Year in 1999 and finished her career as the fifth all-time leading scorer with 1,654 points for SDM. She also shares the record for the most 3-point field goals in a game (6), owns the most 3-point field goals in a season (69) as well as in a career (153). In her four years with the Lady Hardrockers, she made it to the national tournament four times and to the Final Four twice. She was also a member of three SDIC championship teams. Konechne received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. She earned a master’s degree in physical education from St. Cloud State University in 2004. Konechne has plenty of coaching experience joining SDM. After graduating and leaving Rapid City, she was the head junior varsity coach at Dakota State and then an assistant for St. Cloud State. From there she became the head coach for the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers in Mitchell.

Maria Caldwallader |
Maria (Fossum) Caldwallader returns to the School of Mines as an assistant coach for the Lady Hardrocker basketball program. A 1996 Mnes graduate in industrial engineering, Maria brings a wealth of experience as a former Lady Hardrocker player along with her knowledge of the game. She was the point guard and leader of the Hardrockers’ first ever NAIA National Tournament team in 1994. She achieved NAIA Honorable Mention All-American status, was the SDIC Conference Most Valuable Player her senior year and holds school records for assists in a season (217) and in a game (19). Following graduation, Maria worked in the construction divisions as District Sales Manager for Ingersoll Rand (1996-2000) and as a Sales Manager for Herc-U-Lift, Inc (2000-2005). Maria and husband Ryan, (a 1996 Mines civil engineering graduate and former football player with receiving records at Mines), relocated to Rapid City from Minneopolis with their four-year-old son Jakob and have since added a little girl named Brooke.
