Well, Let see…. I can't say that I really know the origins of this wonderful little organization. My freshman year (Fall of '93), my dorm RA (Rod) was the president and he got me involved. We did several fundraisers that year (raffle tickets, car wash, bake sale) and we went to Breckenridge, Keystone, A-basin, and Copper Mountain.
The following year, the Vice-President (Gary) took control of the ski-club and we went to Steamboat. The next year current president Jeromy Johnson took over and we went to Jackson Hole. Last year, we went to Big Sky and this year, we're on our way to Jackson Hole.
We welcome any students or staff of SDSM&T to join the ski-club and if you know of anyone else that is interested on going on the trips, they are welcome too. The main point of the club is to introduce new students and faculty on campus to the wonderful world of downhill skiing/snowboarding. Even if you're an expert winter enthusiast, we encourage you to join the club for the great trips we go on and to show some new people the ropes. You don't ever have had to been on skis/board before to join, that's what we're here for.
