Future Issues
The next issue will concentrate on the theme of blasphemy, witha lead article on heresy
and freethought issues in the contemporary Islamic world, reprints of 17th century British tracts,
a review of Levy's massive survey on the subject, etc. Later in 1995, we would like to review a
series of books on the German-American heritage. I also plan to report on my expedition to the
South in the summer of 1994. Suggestions from readers for topics, books needing review, etc.
are welcome, as are short poems.
One considerable disappointment in the three years of issuing this newsletter is how
other humanist publications are so rarely supportive of this project. It is rarely mentioned in print
anywhere, so subscriptions remain paltry, at just over 100. Given this situation, the future of this
project beyond 1995 is seriously in doubt. We welcome reader perspectives and suggestions
on how to sustain and expand our reach.
