An Early Archaic Dart Point

early archaic point

Beginning about 7,000 years ago, changing environmental conditions brought about a drier climate. The Paleoindian period came to an end and the Early Archaic period began. Technological changes included a shift to using notched dart points for hunting. This specimen was found at the Licking bison kill site in Harding County.
