Folsom Points

folsom point

Folsom points represent perhaps the pinnacle of the flint worker's art in the Americas. These exquisitely made spear points had a single thin flake, or flute, chipped from each side. No one knows whether this was to make the points thinner for hafting, to make them penetrate easier, or for some other purpose. Folsom hunters ranged the American plains more than 10,000 years ago.
