SD Mines robotics team hopes to roll over their competition this summer

Students from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology have their eyes set on Michigan. That's because Rochester, Michigan is the location of this year's Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition in July. For the past three years, members of Mines' Robotics Team have been working on this robot and hope to score high with it.

Raven Industries' donation gives Mines Robotics Team an edge

Sharpened by a $2,000 donation from Raven Industries along with full access to its GPS base station in Rapid City, the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology Robotics Team will get a chance to slice through the competition at this year's Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition, slated for the summer of 2013.

Pumpkin Festival Keeps on Growing

Like the giant pumpkins in Saturday’s weigh-off, the great downtown pumpkin festival just keeps getting bigger.
The fourth annual event saw record crowds estimated at 12,000 along with a new spot in Memorial Park for the pumpkin catapults and a different layout of the activities featuring Main Street Square that made for afestive welcome to the fall season despite warmer temperatures.
