SD MSHA Courses and Schedule

Courses Offered

SD State grants Mine Safety and Health Administration Program at South Dakota Mines presents practical, state-of-the-art information, which is designed for working professionals in the mining and minerals industries. We promote active discussions and participation by trainees on health and safety topics. Our trainers are MSHA-approved instructors for both surface and underground mines.

The program offers many MSHA certification classes including:

  • 30 CFR Part 46 New Miner Training (24 hours)
  • 30 CFR Part 46 Annual Refresher Training (8 hours)
  • 30 CFR Part 46 Newly Hired Experienced Miner Training (8 hours)
  • 30 CFR Part 48 Surface New Miner Training (24 hours)
  • 30 CFR Part 48 Underground New Miner Training (32 hours)
  • 30 CFR Part 48 Annual Refresher Training (8 hours)
  • 30 CFR Part 48 Newly Hired Experienced Miner Training (8 hours)
  • Mine Safety Specialist Courses

Training Schedule

Please call the program office to schedule a class and for a list of cost per student: (605) 394-2344. Price reductions are available for large class sizes.

Notes

  • Classes with fewer than 5 students may be rescheduled. A minimum of 10 students is required to schedule a class outside of the above listed training weeks.
  • Must present valid MSHA Form 5000-23 to validate previous completion of acceptable
    New Miner (Surface or Underground) training.
  • All classes are taught by MSHA-certified instructors.
