I’m an acting singer from Dickinson North Dakota who came to Mines to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. I like to think of myself as a renaissance man, and music has been a major focus in my life. My singing experience before coming to Mines mainly consisted of participation in Jazz Choir, Church Choirs, Musicals, and joining a state choral competition on a bet. More of my time in high school was spent playing trumpet in Concert Band. But I’ve always been a better singer than I could ever hope to be a trumpet player. When I first came to Mines I had little interest in the music department, but after watching a Master Chorale performance I knew more than anything else that was the group I wanted to be in. After joining the other choirs on campus and being severely humbled for two years I decided that I was ready to audition for Master Chorale. I’m singing in Chorale now, taking voice lessons, and couldn’t be happier learning to better myself as a musician.
