Go With The Flow

Science and Engineering Camp

Have you ever wondered why golf balls have dimples in them? Or why hurricanes and tropical storms are only encountered in the east coast and not the west?

In this camp we delve into the mesmerizing and fascinating world of fluid dynamics. Students will spend 4 days getting hands-on experience studying unique features of fluid and analyzing different fluid flows. Among other things students will get a unique opportunity to perform experiments in a wind tunnel.

On Thursday afternoon parents join us on campus to learn more about what their campers experienced and an optional campus tour.

    ENROLLMENT PROCESS:

All prospective campers must complete the following items before their summer camp application will be evaluated.

    Dr. Thalakottor Headshot

    Dr. Thalakkottor

Dr Thalakkottor directs the Laboratory of Interfacial Transport. His research focuses on gaining a deeper understanding of the nature, behavior, and effects of flow features, existing at the limits of continuum field theory using computational tools. Common examples of these being vortex sheet, shock front, combustion front and gravity wave front, to name a few. He received his is Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering at Cochin University of Science and Technology, India. Following two years of work as a senior design engineer at the Shipbuilding Division of Larsen and Toubro Ltd., he went on to obtain his Masters and Ph.D. from the University of Florida.
