Summer Camp Scholarship Applications

Our Summer Camp Scholarship Program was created to award financial support to high-achieving, in-need students.

Priority Deadlines for Scholarship Consideration:

  • All Other Camps: March 15th
  • CBE Institute: April 1st
  • Green Chemistry: April 1st
  • 3D & Beyond: April 1st

Eligibility:

To be eligible for a scholarship, a camper must complete the application and provide all supplemental materials requested as well as register for the individual camp (separate application). Most of our camp scholarships are awarded based on financial need; the student should demonstrate financial need through participation in school lunch assistance or another form of financial aid assistance. The priority deadline for scholarship applications by camp varies. The majority of camps have a March 15, 2020 priority deadline.

Scholarships are primarily need-based, where financial need is a main factor in awarding scholarships. In rare instances, other factors that determine acceptance include:

  • High School GPA
  • Class size and rank
  • Coursework the student has taken
  • ACT/SAT scores (if available)
  • Extracurricular activities

Scholarship Types:

Scholarship award amounts vary with the majority of awards being partial scholarships of 50% camp tuition or Room/Board Scholarships at $300.00. Full-ride scholarships are sparse, but if awarded, cover the total cost of the residential camp.

*Campers are responsible for paying any remaining balance on the account by the close of registration on June 1st, to be eligible to attend the camp.

If you apply for a scholarship, you must also register for the camp you are applying for.  This is due to limited capacity in a camp.  If the camp fills before scholarships are awarded, you will not be able to attend the camp even if you were to be awarded a scholarship.

Special Scholarship Opportunity for Students of Ethan High School:

One student at Ethan High School, located in Ethan, SD, will have the opportunity to attend a summer camp of their choosing free of charge, thanks to an individual donor. The student will be nominated by Mr. Eric Aisenbrey, Science Teacher from Ethan High School. If you are an Ethan High School student, please contact Mr. Aisenbrey for more information.

Application Deadline:

The priority deadline for scholarship consideration for all camps is March 15th, with the exception of Green Chemistry, 3D & Beyond, and CBE Institute, which is April 1st. Any application received after this date will be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis if funds are available. All eligible applicants will be considered; however, completing an application does not guarantee assistance. Camp registration is still available after scholarship priority dates.
