Student Organization

The Future Health Science Professionals club is a student-run organization committed to providing opportunities for the campus pre-health community and  leading practitioners of tomorrow.

The club seeks to create a community for students interested in the health sciences, to encourage volunteer work, to help students prepare for future academic challenges, and to promote personal and professional growth.

Club members are preparing for a range of health science careers in medicine, dentistry, physical and occupational therapy, radiography, and more.  Members come from all over campus, and all majors are encouraged to join.  Faculty advisors for the club are also pre-health academic advisors.

Selected activities sponsored by the FHSP include

  • On-campus presentations by community medical and health professionals
  • An annual panel discussion with third- and fourth-year medical students from the University of South Dakota (USD)
  • An annual road trip to Vermillion for “Pre-Med Day” at USD
  • MCAT study groups and study tips
  • Participation in the annual Wellness Fair, AIDS Awareness Day, and community blood drives
  • A variety of community and campus service projects
  • Club socials
