South Dakota Mines Scholarships
Brass Life Award

- South Dakota Mines rising juniors and seniors to study abroad only
- The Brass LIFE Award was established by the Brass Family Foundation to emphasize the importance of campus leadership and international educational experience for students, two areas that have greatly impacted the lives of Lorin (MetE 75) and Mary
(CE 77) Brass.
Frank Family International Fund
- Deadline: Rolling, one award remaining
- South Dakota Mines students only
- The Frank Family International Fund was established by Mr. Richard (ME 63) and Dr. Irma Frank to emphasize the value of and to create opportunities for international educational experiences for South Dakota Mines students with benefits to the host
countries. The Frank Family International Fund places an emphasis on projects of a humanitarian nature.
Study Abroad Award
- Deadline: Rolling
- South Dakota Mines students only
- The Study Abroad Supplemental Fund was established by university personnel donations to emphasize the importance of international educational experiences for students. Amounts awarded through the supplemental fund will range from $200 to $500 for
individuals. If applying as a group, the maximum amount will be $100 per person, with a maximum aggregate amount of $500 per group.
National Scholarships (US Government Funded)
Gilman Scholarship

- Students must have Federal Pell Grant funding to qualify
- The Gilman Scholarship Program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go by offering awards to U.S. undergraduates who might otherwise not participate due to financial constraints.
Fulbright Program

- The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers research, study and teaching opportunities in over 140 countries to recent graduates and graduate students.
Critical Language Scholarship Program

- Undergraduate and graduate opportunities
- The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program is a fully-funded overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students. With the goal of broadening the base of Americans studying and mastering critical
languages and building relationships between the people of the United States and other countries, CLS provides opportunities to a diverse range of students from across the United States at every level of language learning.

DAAD - Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst or German Academic Exchange Service

- Variety of programs in Germany for students, faculty and staff
- The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a publicly-funded independent organization of higher education institutions in Germany. Each year DAAD, its Regional Branch Offices, its Information Centers, and DAAD Professors around the globe provide
information and financial support to over 120,000 highly-qualified students and faculty for international research and study per year. Located in New York, San Francisco, and Toronto, DAAD North America is here to advise students, faculty and
current DAAD fellows in the US and Canada.
Turkish Coalition of American (TCA)

- The Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) is an educational, charitable organization established in Washington, DC to educate the general public about Turkey and Turkish Americans; to engage and cultivate a new generation of young Turkish American leaders;

IAESTE - United States

- IAESTE is the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience, is a global organization promoting intercultural exchange between students in STEM fields across the globe, and it offers a variety of internship program
options around the world.
CVS International Program

- Cultural Vistas offers several outbound programs for U.S. citizens including the Alfa Fellowship Program, the Berlin Startup Program, the Cultural Vistas Fellowship, the EMGIP Fellowship and many more.
Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange Program

- The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals (CBYX) is a fellowship funded by the German Bundestag and U.S. Congress, that annually provides 75 American and 75 German Young Professionals the opportunity to spend one year in each others'
countries, studying, interning, and living with hosts on a cultural immersion program. The program is open to candidates in all career fields who are interested in a year of cultural exchange.
- This program is specific to Germany. It offers post-secondary options as well as scholarships for high school students.
Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarships

- Rotary Global grants can fund activities such as: humanitarian projects, scholarships for graduate-level academic studies and vocational training teams, which are groups of professionals who travel abroad either to teach local professionals about
a particular field or to learn more about their own.
