Student Health Services

Update 03/17/2020:  Due to the extended Spring Break schedule, Student Health will be closed until on-site classes resume.  For any COVID-19 concerns, please call the COVID-19 Triage Center between the hours of 7am-11pm at 1-800-279-1466.  For students with any other health concerns, please report to either Monument Health Urgent Care location (with your Grubby Card).  The addresses and phone numbers are noted below.

Student Health Services is available to all currently-enrolled students.  To receive service, please visit us with Your Grubby Card to verify enrollment status.

Location on Campus:

The Student Health Center, located in the Surbeck Center, is open 5 days a week and operated by Monument Health Urgent Care. We are conveniently located down the hallway from the Rocker Shop.                                            

Student Health Services Hours:

Monday: 7:30am - 4pm
Tuesday - Thursday: 11am -  4pm
Friday: 8am - 2pm


If you need to speak with a medical professional, call (605) 519-4703 and talk to one of our urgent care nurses.  Available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Summer Information:

On-campus health services is closed over the summer. However, enrolled summer students can visit either Monument Health Urgent Care location to receive the same care and benefits offered during the academic year.

After Hours or Weekends:

If you need care after hours or on weekends, you may visit any Monument Health Urgent Care Clinic for service. You must provide your Mines ID to ensure charges for services match services provided on campus. Services not covered by the SD Mines contract will be billed to the student/student insurance.
