Lin Guo is a Pietz endorsed Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering. Her research interests include exploring satisficing strategies for engineering design, data science and analytics in manufacturing and healthcare, and hazardous product end-of-life management. Lin devotes herself to merging Machine Learning (ML) techniques and Operation Research (OR) to deliver useful, effective, and efficient methods and approaches for supporting human decision-making in designing complex engineered systems. She received the Provost Dissertation Award and ten other scholarships at University of Oklahoma. As the winner of the Three-Minute-Thesis competition, she believes that professors can and should generalize their complicated research ideas using simple language in three minutes to attract students and the public's interest. Lin's passion is in creating knowledge and educating next-generation engineers.
