NSF Tiospaye Scholarships for American Indian Students

The Tiospaye Scholar Program at South Dakota Mines offers renewable National Science Foundation scholarships awarded to academically talented American Indian students with financial need.  The goal of our program is to increase the number of American Indians graduating in engineering. If you're eligible, we hope you'll join our growing program!

Renewable scholarships provide up to $8,000 annually in the following BS majors: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, Industrial Engineering & Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, and Mining Engineering.

The NSF Tiospaye Scholar Program is a success program with five areas of support: Financial, Academic, Professional, Social, and Cultural. "Tiospaye" is a Lakota word that translates approximately to "extended family."
