Rocker Ready Schedule Information

Welcome to Our Mines Family. All new students will need to attend an orientation prior to the start of the semester. Rocker Ready helps prepare you for the challenges you will face during your academic career here at SD Mines. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to meet new people and have a lot of fun. After orientation, Welcome Week starts with different, fun and entertaining programs and activities each night!

Fall 2020 Information:

Save the Date: Rocker Ready Weekend is Friday and Saturday, August 21 and 22, 2020. Planning is currently underway. Keep checking back for updated schedule information.

Rocker Ready Weekend is mandatory for all new students. New students will be automatically registered for Rocker Ready Weekend.

Orientation: Athletics

Volleyball, Cross Country, Soccer, Cheerleading- August 18, 2019| Student Schedule  Parent Schedule 
Hardrocker cross country, football, soccer, cheerleaders, and volleyball players will move into their residence halls prior to their assigned orientation session. These orientations are specifically designed for student athletes. Sessions will also be available for parents. 

Orientation: Veterans

Wednesday, August 21, 2019   
The orientation is from 10:00AM – 12:00PM in the Veterans Resource Center.  

Orientation: International Students
(This is a two-day orientation)

Wednesday, August 21, 2019 (9:00 am- 3:00 pm) and Thursday, August 22, 2018 (9:00 am- Noon)                                                      
All international students must attend this session. This orientation provides international students with information specific to their status and their transition to the US, including differences in culture and the educational system. All international students are required to attend this orientation session in addition to attending New Student Orientation. 

Orientation: Center for Inclusion Pre-Orientation

Monday, August 19- Thursday, August 22, 2019                                                       
Open to all incoming domestic students of color. Including those that self-identify as one or more of the following: American Indian, African American, Asian, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander. *Note Tribal enrollment is not required to attend. *All attendees are required to also attend New Student Orientation.  Contact the Office of Center for Inclusion with questions: or (605) 394-1828
