Runners and walkers can also register day of the event from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and glow-in-the-dark face painting and hot chocolate will be available during that time. The race begins at 7:30 p.m. at Founders Park.

“Partnering with Girls Inc. is a natural fit for both WiSE and Alpha Omega Epsilon to encourage young girls to develop strong leadership skills, a sense of sisterhood and to encourage the natural ability and interest in STEM fields,” said Lisa Carlson, Director of Student Success.

“One of our areas of focus at Girls Inc. is to help girls develop an enthusiasm for and skills in STEM. Having such a positive, go-getting group of women who are studying, working in, or educating in STEM fields assisting us with the goal is phenomenal and very much appreciated,” said Darcie Decker, YFS Community Outreach Director.

The event will include glow-in-the-dark face painting, glow sticks, prizes such as gift cards from Scheels and items from the Rocker Shop and T-shirts for the first 100 registrants.

Registration is $15 per person for students, $25 for members of the community and kids 12 and younger are allowed to run/walk for free. All proceeds go to YFS Girls Inc. of Rapid City.
