The Rocker Days Fair for families is among the highlights of Rocker Days festivities at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology this week.
The Rocker Days Fair will be from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, on the west end of the O’Harra Stadium parking lot. There is no admission charge and all activities and food are free. The Hardrocker cheerleaders and Grubby mascot will be on hand to greet families. SD Mines chemistry
students will show off some cool science you can try at home. KTEQ, the SD Mines student radio station, will sponsor live music throughout the day. Members of the student baseball club will clock pitching to see who has the fastest fast ball. Other family-friendly activities led by SD Mines student organizations, as well as groups from throughout the community, include gold panning, face painting, an obstacle course and more.
Free tailgate food grilled by the Rowdy Rockers student group will be offered at 4 p.m. The homecoming football game kicks off at 6 p.m. against Colorado State University - Pueblo. Game tickets are available at the gate or by calling the Hardrocker ticket office at (605) 394-2351.
