Teaching

As an Assistant Professor at St. Petersburg State University (RF) and Invited Professor at the Institute of Chemical and Biosensors in Muenster, Germany, Dr. Smirnova taught courses and labs in physical/inorganic chemistry, applied environmental chemistry, and polymer chemistry focused on synthesis of thin films for ion-selective sensors based on field effect transistors (FETs).

At UCONN, Quinnipiac University, and Manchester Community College Dr. Smirnova taught general chemistry courses and labs. At ECSU she taught courses and labs related to the environmental and sustainable energy applications, such as: EES 403 "Methane hydrates for sustainable energy applications"; EES 2014 “Climate change”; EES 205 "Sustainable energy"; and EES 207 “Sustainable energy laboratory”.
