FTIR spectroscopy

Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy measures the absorbance spectra of solid and liquid samples across the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. FTIR can be utilized for the characterization, identification, and quantification of a wide range of materials enabling its use in a variety of disciplines. The EMES operates a Shimadzu IRAffinity-1S FTIR within the Shimadzu Environmental Research Lab. The FTIR is equipped with an attenuated total reflection (ATR) accessory enabling samples to be run with limited sample preparation. For more information about the FTIR and its capabilities please contact EMES staff.
