Dining on campus isn’t one size fits all. Our meal plans were designed to meet your unique needs. If you are looking to enjoy a meal with friends or just a snack on the go – we’ve got a plan to fit every appetite.

On campus residents are required to purchase a meal plan each semester.  Some plans are restricted to employees and non-residential, second-year students, or Rocker Square residents.  Please see the meal plan options for more details.

Our meal plans have two parts to them.  Meals are used in the Hardrocker Café as access to the all-you-care-to-eat service on campus and vary per plan (Gold Rush is unlimited access to the Hardrocker Café, Hardrocker 160 has 160 meals, Hardrocker 125 has 125 meals, etc.). Flex Dollars, a pre-loaded fund on your Grubby ID  that you can use at all locations operated by dining which include Miner’s Shack (on-campus convenience store with a Grille and Bene Pizza), Einstein Bros Bagels, Hardrocker Café (if you choose to not use a meal access) and concessions. Each plan has a different amount of Flex Dollars to balance the number of meals on the respective plan. We've kept what's most important to you in mind, building in the convenience, flexibility, quality, value and healthy options you deserve. Meal Plan Terms and Conditions:

All funds and plans purchased for use in the South Dakota Mines Dining Program are for the personal use of the owner of the account or plan only and are non-transferable. Meals may not be bought or sold and meal plan holder must accompany guest when using guest meals. The South Dakota Mines Dining Program funds and plans cannot be used as a gift card or gift certificate. Except as otherwise expressly stated in these terms, all South Dakota Mines Dining Program funds and plans are non-refundable and will expire on the last day of the spring semester. First Year students may choose between the Gold Rush, Hardrocker 160 or Hardrocker 125. Second year and above students may select the Gold Rush, Hardrocker160, Hardrocker 125, Hardrocker 75 or Hardrocker Flex Plans. The Gold Rush Plan does not include guest meals. Meal Plan Meals are not transferable to the next semester and are non-refundable. Dining Dollars will transfer from the fall to spring semester as long as a plan is purchased for that semester. All Meal Plans include a bond and utility fee used to cover costs of building operations and improvements. There is a limited window at the beginning of each semester where you can change your meal plan once. Visit Residence Life online forms to complete the meal plan change request.
