Lady 'Rockers close out season at shortened Augie Meet

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women’s golf team closed out the 2014 spring season at the Augustana College Spring Invitational Meet at Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D., over the weekend. The tournament was originally billed as a two-day 36-hole event, but due to unfavorable weather conditions, it was shortened to just 18 holes.

The Lady Hardrockers finished in 11th place with a team score of 389. The host team won the event with 302 strokes, Concordia – St. Paul took second with 305 and Minnesota State secured third posting 310 strokes.

Allie Ostrander of Augustana College won the event shooting 3-under-par for an 18-hole score of 69. Teammate Maggie Leland was two strokes back in second place with a 71 and Rachel Gray of Concordia-St. Paul carded a 72 for third place.

For the Hardrockers, junior Brianna Dodge and freshman Cassidy Vollmer both came in with scores of 93 and tied for 53rd place. Freshman Sydney James posted a score of 100 for 63rd place and sophomore Erin Rasmussen put up a 103 for 64th.
