SD Mines Ranks Among Top Universities for STEM Ed

RAPID CITY, SD (Jan. 22, 2019) – South Dakota School of Mines & Technology continuously ranks among the top universities in the nation for affordability and quality in both undergraduate and graduate level programs. 

Some of the more recent recognition includes:

College Factual Ranks SD Mines Among the Best in the Country: SD Mines has been named in the top 1 percent nationwide by College Factual in four categories – Best Value in Engineering, Best Value (no aid) nationwide, Best Value in Chemical Engineering degrees and Best Value in Mechanical Engineering. College Factual uses a myriad of criteria, including SAT and ACT scores of admitted students, educational resources, students-to-faculty ratio, degree completion, 6-year graduation rate, post-graduate earnings, starting salaries and student loan default rate.  

Mechanical Engineering Program 12th Out of 272 for Veterans:  College Factual has ranked SD Mines’ Mechanical Engineering program 12th out of 272 programs in the county for veteran friendliness. This puts Mines in the top 5 percent of all schools in the nation when it comes to offering quality mechanical engineering education to veterans. Mines has earned the ranking two years in a row.  

Online Graduate Programs Recognized as Top Most Affordable in the US:  EDsmart named SD Mines’ three online engineering degrees – Construction Engineering and Management, Engineering Management and Mining Engineering and Management – among the top 30 most affordable online graduate programs in the country.

Mines Recognized for Top Online Master’s in Engineering Management Programs:  OnlineMasters.com identified the top master’s in engineering management programs in the nation for 2019, and SD Mines is on that list. OnlineMasters.com looks at curriculum quality, program flexibility, affordability and graduate outcomes.

GradSchoolHub Puts Mines Online Master’s Programs in Top 30 Nationwide: For 2019, Gradschoolhub named Mines Construction Engineering and Management, Engineering Management, and Mining Engineering & Management among the top 30 best online graduate schools in the nation based on raw affordability.

Civil Engineering Master’s Program Ranked Nationally: Master’s Programs Guide ranked Mines’ Master’s in Construction Management 34th in the nation for exceptional online master of civil engineering and similar degree programs.
