PLEASE NOTE: The
South Dakota Board of Regents will be undergoing a network migration over the
Spring Break period. Therefore, any of the Board of Regents managed
information technology systems may be down effectively starting Friday, March 5th
6:00 PM CT/5:00 PM MT through Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Those technology
systems that may have an outage for maintenance include: portions of the
Desire2Learn (D2L) Learning Management System, Student Self Service, Employee
Self Service, Faculty Self Service, Financial Aid Self Service, Administrative
Banner Systems, Student SDepay, PeopleAdmin, Reporting Tools, etc.
The
system is scheduled to return online effective March 10, 2021. We
apologize for any inconvenience this may create. Thank you for your
patience while the system is being updated.
Mission Statement
The Office of the Registrar maintains an accurate academic record for each student who enrolls at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology while preserving the privacy of those records and executing the provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Our
specific duties include but are not limited to:
- maintaining accurate and secure records of all students and issuing transcripts and verifications of student records;
- conducting registration;
- preparing and publishing online the schedule of classes and the University Catalog;
- administering academic policy;
- awarding and posting degrees;
- determining student eligibility for NCAA athletic participation, Veteran’s educational benefits, and residency status for tuition purposes;
We support student enrollment, retention, and graduation by empowering students, faculty, and staff while also serving our alumni and community constituents. We further accomplish this by adhering to University as well as South Dakota Board of Regent policy and procedures.
