South Dakota Mines will offer in-state rates to incoming freshmen and
transfer students from Wisconsin and Illinois starting in the summer of 2023.
A decision by the South Dakota Board of Regents
(BOR) allows South
Dakota Mines to offer in-state rates to incoming freshmen and
transfer students from Wisconsin and Illinois starting in the summer of 2023.
South Dakota Mines is a best-in-class
STEM university with an affordable price and a supportive and
collaborative campus community that prepares graduates to become in-demand
leaders in today’s fastest-growing industries.
The South Dakota Advantage program already offers in-state tuition to
students from Colorado, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota and
Wyoming. The South Dakota Advantage has also been extended to new graduate
students from these states who earned an undergraduate degree from any South Dakota
BOR institution (Black Hills State, Dakota State, Northern State, South Dakota
Mines, South Dakota State and University of South Dakota).
In addition,
the BOR approved in-state tuition rates for new graduate students who earned a
bachelor’s degree from any SD BOR institution and whose parent/legal guardian
graduated with an undergraduate or graduate degree from any SD BOR institution.
See the South
Dakota Mines website for a current list of undergraduate and graduate
degrees offered.
