South Dakota Mines Annual Holiday Parade of Trees Open to the Public

The South Dakota Mines Parade of Trees kicks off today. The theme this year is Myths and Legends. 

Community members are invited to vote on their favorite displays at the South Dakota Mines annual holiday Parade of Trees from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 29-30, and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, in Surbeck Center’s Beck Ballroom on campus. This year’s theme is Myths and Legends.

The public vote will distinguish which team wins the “People’s Choice Award.” Other awards will include best theme fit, best lighting, best representation of department, and most unique. The winners of each category will be announced on Friday after the voting has closed.

The Parade of Trees is sponsored by the Office of Student Engagement at Mines. Each display has been created by a student organization or department on campus. The Office of Student Engagement is also accepting donations of lightly-used books at the Parade of Trees for Black Hills Reads.
