South Dakota Mines will host its 69th annual High Plains Regional Science and Engineering Fair in the King
Center on campus from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
The fair includes 6-12th grade students from schools across the region. This year, there are
330 registered projects from a total of 397 students representing 12 schools.
The South Dakota Discovery Center will provide a
solar system presentation for the student entrants from 8:45-9:45 a.m. Science
fair projects are open to the public from 1:30-2:30 p.m., and the awards
ceremony begins at 3 p.m. The media are welcome to attend during these time
periods.
The high school division winner goes on to compete
in the Regeneron
International Science and Engineering Fair with an all-expense paid trip to
Los Angeles, Cali. for the student and chaperone May 11-17.
