Student Research Symposium - April 3, 2018

Click here for the link to the online submission form.

Information for Students:

Students may submit an abstract for either an oral presentation using PowerPoint slides or a poster presentation, but not both. The subject of the research presentation is left entirely to the individual. Possible topics include, but are not limited to: reports of ongoing or completed research or design projects, or reviews of recent advances in some branch of engineering, science and mathematics, or humanities and social sciences.

Once the submission process is closed, each participant will receive an email with details regarding their session. Oral presentation times will be limited to 20 minutes. This will include set-up, presentation, and a short question and answer period. Both oral and poster presentations will be evaluated by a group of judges. Poster presentation size is 34 inches by 44 inches or smaller.

All accepted abstracts will be organized on a flash drive, which will be provided to all participants. Each abstract should be reviewed by mentor/advisor prior to the submission.

Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in both oral and poster categories to graduates and undergraduates. In addition, an award will be presented to the best overall undergraduate presentation and the best overall graduate presentation.

Prizes

1st Prize: $500
2nd Prize: $300
3rd Prize: $200
Best Overall Paper: $500

In the case of multiple authors, the prize will be awarded to the author who presents the paper. If students have questions regarding research projects for the symposium, they should check with their department head or chair.
