Summer Conferencing

South Dakota Mines is an ideal location for your next summer conference, camp, or special event. Our air-conditioned residence halls feature single beds, private or shared restrooms, and on-site parking for vans and buses. Fully furnished apartments are also available for long-term stays. Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Sturgis are all within a 30-minute drive.

Summer Internships in the Black Hills

Students with internships in the Rapid City area are welcome to stay on campus at South Dakota Mines from May 26 - August 3, 2026

Internship Housing - Rocker Square Apartments
Furnished, air-conditioned apartments featuring four private bedrooms, a shared living room, a full kitchen (cooking utensils not provided), and one or two bathrooms. Each bedroom includes a full-size bed, dresser, and desk. All utilities are included. A limited number of private two-bedroom apartments are also available.
