Leslie E. Boyd Award in Technical Communications - Awarded in Spring
This award is given to the student who has done the most outstanding work in English 279. Professors nominate students for consideration by the Humanities Writing Committee. The award is given at the Honors’ Day Convocation each year in the spring
and is accompanied by a certificate and monetary prize.
John McLearie Technical Communications Award - Awarded in Spring
This award was endowed by Dr. L. Homer Surbeck in memory of Dr. John Robert McLearie and is given to the student who has done the most outstanding work in English 289. Professors nominate students for consideration by the Humanities Writing Committee.
The award is give at the Honors Convocation each year and is accompanied by a certificate and a monetary prize.
Outstanding STS Students Award
This award is given to an STS student with demonstrated strong academic skills who is also engaged in activities/events that further the public good (broadly defined) on campus or the surrounding community (e.g., campus service, volunteerism, community service, external engagement, etc.). Professors nominates students for consideration by the STS Curriculum Committee. The award is given at Honors Convocation each year and is accompanied by a certificate and a monetary prize.
