Brief Bio
I received my PhD in Computational Science and Statistics from South Dakota State
University in 2021. From 2021 - 2023 I worked as a postdoctoral researcher for the
Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation at the University of Maryland - College Park.
I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at SD Mines,
teaching a wide array of mathematics courses and serving as a research advisor in
the Data Science and Engineering PhD program.
Research Expertise
My research interests are broadly in the field of spatial-temporal statistics, using sparse measurements to infer random variables across space and time. I am especially interested in the construction and behavior of covariance kernels, as well as scientific computing methods to make complex space-time models computationally feasible. My current application focus is in forest inventory data, using in situ field measurements and satellite data to study fluctuations in forest biomass.
