Brief Bio

Dr. Xun (Vincent) Wang serves as a Lecturer in the Leslie A. Rose Department of Mechanical Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He is dedicated to undergraduate education and hands-on learning, teaching courses and laboratories in areas such as thermodynamics and manufacturing processes. Dr. Wang is also engaged in research related to thermo-fluid science and energy management systems. He has been a member of the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers (ASTFE) since 2024.

Research Expertise

Dr. Wang’s research focuses on thermo-fluid science and thermal management systems, with particular emphasis on the use of phase change materials in sustainable thermal storage systems and high-performance personal protective equipment for occupational safety and health. His work integrates experimental studies, computational modeling, and materials innovation to enhance energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and protective performance. Recent projects include the development of advanced phase change materials and wearable thermal regulation technologies for industrial and environmental applications.

Teaching

Dr. Wang teaches Introduction to Thermodynamics, Thermodynamics II, and Design for Manufacturing.
